Drama & Theatre Making
We offer FREE drama programmes to young people ages 8-18 who live or learn in Lewisham.
Through drama, our programmes seek to develop creativity, social and emotional skills, ambition, resilience and leadership qualities. No experience is needed, just enthusiasm!
Workshop Groups are short 5-week drama programmes for new participants to explore creativity and storytelling through practical, hands-on drama activities.
This introductory programme uses games, improvisation, movement, voice and scene work to build confidence, develop social skills and spark imagination.
This programme is available for the following ages
Our Performance Companies are
12–15 week long programmes for participants to develop confidence, creativity, and performance skills through practical, hands-on activities.
Participants work collaboratively to develop characters, experiment with physicality and voice to bring stories to life using scripted material or devising new work. Weekly sessions build toward a
celebratory staged performance for friends and family.
This programme is available for the following ages
Theatre Makers is a 10 week programme for LYT members who are ready to take the next step in their creativity journey.
Participants meet weekly to explore the process of creating theatre. From generating ideas, researching and exploring themes, to developing an original play through devising and playwriting. Participants will build teamwork, leadership and creative skills, as they work towards a staged reading of new work. No writing skills needed, just enthusiasm.
