Catford Tales

Between 2014 and 2015, young people from Lewisham Youth Theatre took part in a project to find out about the history of Catford. We researched in Lewisham Archives and interviewed local people. From this research, we created a play using the verbatim testimony we’d collected. ‘Catford Tales’ was performed in and around Catford Town Centre by 60 community members of all ages.

We wanted more people to know about all of the stories we have uncovered. This website is the legacy of our project. Click ‘Explore’ to discover what we’ve learned about the hidden past of Catford.
